Tips for UK visitors on how to save money on theme park tickets

If you are travelling from the UK, you can often benefit from buying park tickets that last the length of your stay, including the ability to park hop between multiple parks on the same day. These tickets tend to be much better value than buying tickets for just a few days after you arrive.

These 14-day tickets can cost around the same price as booking a smaller number of days locally, but those tickets do not always come with the same flexibility for park hopping or the extra benefits explained below.

These tickets are generally only available to UK customers, and it is best to buy them in the UK before you travel. You can buy tickets directly from Disney, Universal, SeaWorld and Busch Gardens, as well as from well-known reputable websites including:

While the headline prices tend to be similar, and the theme parks' own websites rarely offer discounts, some third-party websites frequently have seasonal discounts, usually ranging from 5% to 15%. They sometimes include added extras too, such as free MagicBands, eSIMs, and additional discount vouchers for restaurants or activities.

You can also use cashback sites such as Quidco to reduce the overall cost a little, and we all know that every penny counts. When booking your holiday or tickets, it is always worth shopping around before buying your theme park tickets.

While cost can be a factor, it is also important to consider what offers Disney has on its package holidays when booking. If you are staying on Disney property, the Disney Dining Plan booking offers brought back since Covid may allow your group to benefit from free dining and drinks when booking park tickets at the same time as your holiday. So, while you may pay full price for park tickets when booking this way, you can save hundreds of pounds by benefiting from the free dining package instead.

The two main ticket packages available to the UK market

14-Day Disney World tickets

  • Valid for 14 days over an 18-day period from the date of first use, which is excellent for a two or three week stay.
  • Ability to park hop between all Disney theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.
  • Includes a free round of crazy golf at Winter Summerland or Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf before 4pm each day.
  • Includes access to Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach water parks, depending on the time of year.
  • Includes Memory Maker.
  • Includes ESPN Wide World of Sports access.
  • Includes the Disney Genie service.

14-Day Universal Orlando All Parks Explorer tickets

  • Valid for 14 days from the date of first use.
  • Ability to park hop between all Universal theme parks: Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure and Universal Epic Universe.
  • Includes access to Volcano Bay water park.

Other ticket package options are also available, including packages for SeaWorld and Busch Gardens, and in a variety of combinations to suit your plans.

Single-day and multi-day tickets at the gate

It is also important to bear in mind that the cost of single-day or multi-day tickets at the parks is usually a lot more than buying them online in advance. Depending on the number of days you need, it can often be cheaper to buy the 14-day tickets than to buy tickets for a couple of days at the gate.

Typical advance prices for 2026

  • 14-day Disney World ticket: £599 per adult.
  • 14-day Universal All Parks ticket: £489 per adult.

At-the-gate prices vary depending on the day and time of year, but typical prices are:

  • One-day ticket: $126 to $222.
  • Multi-day tickets: $270 to $411 for two days, through to over $500 for seven days.
  • Water parks: approximately $70 to $80 per day.

It is not possible to buy the 14-day Universal Explorer tickets, Disney World 14-day tickets, or some other ticket combinations at the park entrances, as these are specific to the UK market and only available to book online in advance.

Not buying tickets in advance could also mean that tickets are not available on the date you want them, particularly on busy park days and in high season when they are more likely to sell out. The last thing you want is to be disappointed when you arrive at the gates.

All in all, it is almost always going to be cheaper for UK visitors to buy online in advance, unless you only plan on visiting the parks for a couple of days while you are there. My advice is to book your park tickets in advance, shop around, and compare the total value of each package before you buy.

Prices correct at time of writing.
